Satellite Image of the Week 2021 #34

I took these images over the Atlantic earlier this week.

Hurricane Ida underwent some rapid intensification overnight and is headed towards the Gulf Coast. Louisiana and Mississippi are braced for impact.

In this image, you can see the eye and the eyewall forming. At the time of this writing, it was a category 2 hurricane, with further development expected overnight, just before it makes landfall.
