Satellite Image of the Week 2020 #31

This week’s image was taken earlier this week over the Midwest.

This image is neat, as it shows a healthy cumulus field over Michigan.  You can see the wind direction is from west to east over Michigan, as there is a sea breeze, causing the clouds a little ways inland from Lake Michigan.   You can also see the empty, clear skies over Iowa, Illinois and northern Missouri, due to high pressure sitting over the region.  You can also even see the gray cities and towns contrasting with the dark gray earth in this image.  St. Louis, Chicago, Des Moines, Peoria, Springfield, (IL), and Decatur, and several other minor cities are visible.

Thank you for reading this post!
