Weather Video of the Week: #13, 3/29/20

I missed last week’s video of the week, and forgot to hit “Publish” on this week’s!

This video features the Jonesboro, AR, tornado from Saturday afternoon.

These folks are way too close (they are business owners, not chasers).  I thought I’d bring up an important point with this video.

THEY ARE IN THE TORNADO.  You say, “well, I see the funnel over there”.  Yes, that’s simply the condensation funnel.  The tornado itself is the altered wind field, and they are clearly in the tornadic winds, as evidenced by the water on the street and the debris above their heads.  If the humidity was a little higher at their location, they would be in the condensation funnel, too!

My storm chasing is up in the air this year. I don’t know what it will look like, but I fully intend to go chasing.

Thank you for reading my post.
