We headed southeast towards the KS/OK border. We had initially targeted just east of Wichita, but then decided to dip into Oklahoma where storms were firing along the dryline.
We got on a cell near Marshall, OK, which was briefly tornado-warned. It became a congealed, outflow-dominant mess quickly. We did capture some neat images of the shelf cloud. My camera and photography skills do not do it justice.
We chased this one storm, then packed it up for the night. We had dinner at Arby’s and then had a night in the Super 8 in Woodward.
The route is shown below:
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) Storm Report graphic shows tornado reports outside of the area we chased. I did not want to chase the Tulsa hills/floods/turnpike, and I think my crew agreed with me.
Thank you for reading my post.
