I decided not to pursue the threats in Montana and the Dakotas, much to my disappointment. Instead, I turned west and drove home. I left Amarillo in the early morning and arrived in Rio Rancho by mid-afternoon.
I’m sorry to see the chase season end for me, but there are very few storms left to chase. There will be some good photos from other chasers over the next few days, mostly of structure, and perhaps a tornado or two.
My storm chasing total was 7409 miles for this leg of the trip, or 9881 counting the Magdalena chase.
