Satellite Image of the Week #18

This week’s Satellite Image of the Week shows the formation of some average, garden variety thunderstorms over Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota and Nebraska.

There is a little shear, as shown by the mountain-wave pattern (where there are no mountains!)  There is very little organization with these cells, however, as they are not firing along a boundary or other easily-visible feature.  Instead, they are bubbling up and dying quickly.

Thank you for reading this post!
