Satellite Image of the Week #15

This week’s Satellite Image of the Week shows a strong Mesoscale Convective Complex (MCC) ahead of a trough and a cold front.  There is a tall overshooting top in southern Louisiana, marking an especially intense updraft.

Also, notice the cloud streets over Alabama.  Those are bringing deep moisture into the area just ahead of the MCC.  There is also a long shear roll extending south out of Louisiana into the Gulf of Mexico.

Thank you for reading this post!
