Satellite Image of the Week: #52

This week’s satellite image is from Southern California this afternoon.  There are several things to notice here, but probably my favorite is the large circles of open-cell convection over the open ocean.  Often, this is the type of convection seen over the open ocean, but we can see it close to land today.
