When I started this blog, I intended to use Thursdays as a day to explain what I learned over the week.
This week, I’ll say that I’ve really enjoyed my Oceanography class thus far. My father once explained to me about the Shadow Zones, and what it meant for the Navy, and it was nice to see it in our text book.
In particular, the Shadow Zone is where light (or any wave, actually) refracts and reflects as it passes into denser and denser water- thus leaving an area in the shadow of this wave. This was a huge problem for the Navy, as Soviet submarines could hide in the Shadow Zone and remain undetected.
This class has been going well.
Thank you for reading my post.
