Storm Chase Preparation

I don’t know when my first days in the Great Plains will be this year. I do know that I have been working on my vehicle in preparation.  Yesterday, I set up a Yaesu FT-7800 VHF/UHF radio and a Kenwood TS-130S HF radio in the car.  Both of these are not permanently mounted, but will work for storm chasing.  I also tuned 15 meter and 17 meter antennas.  I tested several others, though they are not adequate for use (an old 20 meter antenna, a ragged 40 meter antenna, and a broken multiband antenna).

I will probably configure my TinyTrak 3 GPS tracker over the next few days, and will pull the 20 meter and 40 meter antennas from my truck to use on the chase.

Things are slowly coming together, and sometime over the next month, I will be storm chasing!

Thank you for reading my post.
