What I am learning this week: #2

Traditionally, I will post this on Wednesday nights, but this week, I am mixing things up a bit.

This week, I studied Agriclimatology in my Applied Climatology class. This is the study of the climate needed to grow different types of crops. I know that a lot of research exists in this field, but I am thinking of all the ways to organize it: when to plant, when to harvest, how to track how much water is needed from irrigation and so on.

It also inspires me to do a little more research into my local climate to better utilize my garden space, rather than fighting to keep some plants alive, while fighting others that are taking over.

During the upcoming winter, I will do some more work on this and plan my garden for next year. This year, my garden is doing okay, thanks to the rain we’ve had over the past few weeks, but I am fighting ants; they eat everything.

Thank you for reading this post.
